Planning consent heralds a new era for healthcare development in Grimsby

Cromwell Road Medical Practice

North Lincolnshire NHS Care Trust Plus and Lunn Healthcare Facilities have announced the commencement of the third phase of a major healthcare development for people in Grimsby.

Demolition work on the site of the old NHS clinic is complete and the announcement means that building work to improve the delivery of patient services and working conditions for staff at the centrally located Cromwell Road Medical Practice is underway.

“We are delighted that we’ve been given the go ahead to start work on the third phase of an ambitious £11m overhaul of primary care services that we are undertaking on behalf of North East Lincolnshire NHS Care Trust Plus” says Tim Edlin, Director of Lunn Healthcare Facilities.

“Construction work of the new two-storey primary care medical centre has commenced and this development will complement the work that we have already completed on Stirling Street in the New Clee area and the Healing Health Centre in Healing” he adds.

The new development at Cromwell Road will initially house GP Practices, with parking, treatment and clinical facilities. It will include diagnostic facilities including a mammography unit, diagnostic imaging, endoscopies, sigmoidoscopies and diagnostic cystoscopy and deliver other important primary health services such as a community dental unit and pharmacy.

The new centre is due for completion in October 2009.
